Home cooked nasi ambeng

Nasi Ambeng, containing a mountain of rice surrounded by different meat and vegetable dishes seems to getting popular these days. This dish was very popular at religious and celebratory festivals in the 60s to 80s in Singapore and one huge dish is normally shared among 4 - 5 people. My aunt made the dishes recently but they were served separately as different family members were coming in at different times. Nothing like sambal to give a kick to life !

Sayur lodeh where carrots, potatoes, bean curd and tempeh are cooked in a coconut gravy.

Egg plant cooked in sambal tumis with vinegar

My absolute favourite - chilli cuttlefish

Beef rendang
